Kin is operated by Ruzylo Cloud, LLC. This sheet says what we hold, what we do not, and how to make us give it back or delete it.
The family's record
The timeline, the tags and the notes stay on your own device and sync only to your own private iCloud, under your Apple ID and Apple's encryption. They are not uploaded to us, mirrored to us, or backed up to us.
We do not have them. That is not a policy we could revise on a bad quarter — it is an architecture, and it means we cannot read your parent's medications, cannot sell them, cannot hand them to an insurer or a care agency, and cannot lose them in a breach of ours.
If a future feature ever needed to send something to a server of ours, we would say so in the app, in plain words, before it happened — and it would be a choice you make rather than a default you discover.
The person being cared for
Most of what is written in Kin is about someone who is not the one writing it, and who in many cases could not meaningfully consent to a service's terms. We treat that as the reason for the design rather than a footnote to it: there is no profile of that person at our end, no identifier for them, and nothing about their health in any system of ours.
What we do hold
- Your email address — only if you join the register. Used to write to you about Kin and nothing else, and never attached to anything in a family's record.
- An authentication identifier — only if you choose Sign in with Apple. We store the opaque Apple user ID; we never receive your real Apple ID or your email address unless you choose to share it.
- Standard server logs for this website — IP address, user agent, and request paths, kept no longer than thirty days for security and debugging.
- Payment details are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your card number.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data, ever, and we do not broker it. No advertising and no data sale funding it.
- We do not run third-party advertising trackers — a family's caring is not an ad slot.
- We do not use anything you write to train any AI model.
- We do not send anything to a doctor, an insurer, a pharmacy, a care facility, or an employer on your behalf.
Your rights
Write to [email protected] for any of these, and we answer within thirty days.
- Access — a copy of everything we hold about you, in JSON or CSV. In practice this is an email address and, if you used it, an opaque Apple identifier.
- Deletion — everything we hold, deleted. The family's own record is not ours to delete; you remove it from your devices.
- Correction — fix anything wrong, by email or in the app.
- Portability — your family's record is already yours; export it to CSV from the app whenever you like.
Children
Kin is not intended for children under 13, or under 16 in the EU, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
Changes
If we make a material change we will update this sheet and the effective date at its head, and write once to anyone on the register.
